What is a Periodontist?
A Periodontist is a Dentist who has become a specialist in prevention, diagnosis, treatment for diseases of the gums, and supporting bone of the teeth.
Periodontal disease is responsible for 85% - 90% of all tooth loss. Approximately 75% of all adults have some form of periodontal disease, commonly called gum disease. These diseases are usually painless and, if left undetected, can lead to the loss of teeth. It is our responsibility to evaluate and treat these problems so comprehensive care can be given to a patient's mouth and total health is restored.
